Hot! Toastmaster Youth Leadership Program Workshops: Presented by the 87FSS Librar-e & Resource Commons in conjunction with JB MDL Toastmasters. Workshops are free and held Wednesdays at the library from 12 to 4pm on June 24, July 1, July 8 and July 15, 2015. The library is partnering with Toastmasters this summer to host a “Youth Leadership Program” for youths ages 12-17.  The program consists of four (4) 2-hour sessions at the Library, enabling participants to develop communication and leadership skills through practical experience. Students can evaluate their present public speaking ability, organize and give speeches, give impromptu talks, give constructive feedback, read stories and perform storytelling to library children, and learn voice gestures and diversity. Great experience for young people in debate classes, job interviews, public speaking and applying for college!  Registration is required. Call MSgt Lorraine Cuff at 609.754.4851.

Teen Lock-In: Saturday, April 25 from 9pm – 6am. Come for a full evening of activities and fun for members, sponsored by the Keystone Club and Teen Council, and only $10 per person. For more information, call 609.562.5061.

Mothers’ Day Tea at Falcon Courts North: Friday, May 8 from 3:30 to 6:30pm. Presented by 87FSS Youth Programs at Falcon Courts North Youth Center for Moms of youth ages 6 to 18. FCNYC youth treat their Mom’s to a very special tea when they come to pick them up complete with cookies, Mothers’ Day cards and, of course, tea! 609.754.5437

Game Night at Falcon Courts Youth Center (Open to ages 6 thru 8 and 9 thru 12): Friday, May 1 from 6:30 to 9pm. Activities from around the world for the two age groups, including dinner! $5 per person. 609.754.5437.

TGIF at Falcon Courts North Youth Center (Open to ages 6 to 8 and 9 to 12): Friday, May 15 from 6:30 to 9pm. Lots of fun activities both indoors and outdoors, dinner included! $5 per person.  609.754.5437.

Teen Barbecue: Saturday, May 16 from 5:30 to 8:30pm. Come enjoy good friends and great food at the center. Only $5 per person. 609.562.5061.

Americas’ Kids Run: Saturday, May 16. Presented by 87FSS Youth Programs at the 87FSS McGuire FitnessCenter track beginning at 9am. Varying age groups run for fun in this nationally celebrated program. No cost to participate. 609.754.5437.

Summer Reading Program Kick-Off: Saturday, May 16.Presented by the Librar-e and Resource Commonsfrom 9am to 12pm, open to all DoD ID holders up to age 15. Come helps us kick-off the best Summer Reading Program to date with Face Painting, Storytelling, Book Giveaways, Therapy Dogs, Balloon Animals, and more! All Free! Youth Fitness Fun Day (Open to ages 9 to 18): Friday, May 29 from 4:30 to 6:30pm. Presented by 87FSS Youth Programs at Falcon Courts North Youth Center.  Celebrate Spring with an afternoon of field activities for both group and individual. 609.754.5437.

The First Tee Junior Golf Program – Pine Ridge Golf Course: Presented by The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia in conjunction with 87FSS Golf for ages 7 to 11 on Mondays, May 4,11 and 18 from 4 to 5pm, and Mondays, June 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 5:15 to 6:15pm at Pine Ridge Golf Course, JB MDL Lakehurst. This program is free, funded by The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia.

The First Tee Junior Golf ProgramFountain Green Golf Course: Presented by The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia in conjunction with 87FSS Golf for ages 6 to 18 every Saturdays, June 6, 13, 20 and 27, from 11am to 12:30pm at Fountain Green Golf Course, JB MDL Dix. This program is free, funded by The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia. Participants must register by Friday, May 22.

The First Tee’s programs are designed around teaching young people the game of golf, as well as helping them understand and ultimately develop The First Tee Nine Core Values: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment. The First Tee’s curriculum was developed by experts in the field of positive youth development through sport and is delivered by caring adults (coaches) who have been formally trained by The First Tee. At The First Tee, golf and life lessons are seamlessly incorporated into each experience. In addition to learning fundamentals of the golf swing and the game, a sample of life skills lessons include interpersonal skills, self-management, goal setting, resiliency skills. Hook Up To Youth Bowling at JB MDL Dix: Presented by 87FSS at the Dix Bowling Center, Bldg. 6054 Doughboy Loop, JB MDL Dix. Program runs every Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm for ages 7 to 17 from June 17 thru August 5. The 8-week bowling camp provides participants two hours of group instruction with on-lane lessons with experienced coaches. Upon completion, all participants receive a new bowling ball, towel, and bag! Awards and certificates presented during the completion party featuring party food and beverage.
