Spend a day at the park, the John Mann Park on Doughboy Loop. Along with a wide open area for picnics and group events, the park features *brand new batting cages, mini-golf, go karts, horseshoe pits, volleyball and basketball courts and a playground for kids. John Mann Park is located in Building 6057 on Doughboy Loop. The park is open to all eligible ID card holders and their guests.

Open Saturday & Sunday 1:00pm to 6:00pm
Closed Easter Sunday, April 8
Open Memorial Day from 1:00pm to 6:00pm

*The new and improved batting cages will open from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Tuesday thru Thursday beginning May 1 thru October 30, in addition to normal operating hours which are Saturday & Sunday from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.  2 softball machines and 2 baseball machines are available for use.  It is first come, first serve basis.  No reservation needed.  $1 per token throws 10 pitches.

Group rates for park activities are available with advance notification or request. Rates are based on the size of your group. A group request must be completed NO LESS than three days in advance. Minimum participation is twenty guests.

A separate group rate is applied to those groups requesting a Private Party that is NOT during normal operating hours. For private parties outside of normal operating hours, a group request MUST be completed NO LESS than fourteen days in advance. Minimum participation is fifty guests.

Note: Alcoholic beverages are permitted as long as the group is properly licensed and all pets MUST be leashed and curbed at all times.

Daily Costs:

Batting cages – $1 per token / 10 throws.  Slow pitch softball/fast pitch baseball, bats and helmets provided.

Mini Golf – $3 adults / $2 for ages 6 to 17 and $1 for children age 5 and under. Club and golf ball rental are included in the price and all children must be supervised by an adult.

Go Kart Track – $5 per cart. Karts will not be available if the track is wet due to safety concerns. Drivers must be age twelve and older and 58” in height. Drivers with passengers must be at least eighteen years old and passengers ride for free in double carts.

Need party gear? Outdoor Recreation and Equipment Resource Center, located in Building 6045 on Doughboy Loop, can provide party equipment to make your event easy and affordable. Ask an ODR staff member about renting the following items for your event:

Super Cooker (charcoal grill), Gas Grill (propane tanks also available), Inflatable Jumpers (variety of themes), Monster Slide, Dunk Tanks, Coolers and Chairs, Family Games such as Baggo, Potato sacks, flag football, Tug of War ropes and more.

Park reservations and payment may be made at Dix Outdoor Recreation at the Equipment Resources Center in Building 6045 on Doughboy Loop.

Dix ODR Hours of Operation:

Monday through Friday 10:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday & Sunday 9:00am to 4:00pm and on Fridays from May to September from 10:00am to 7:00pm and closed on Federal Holidays.
