Are you looking for a friendly place to hang out, play video games, relax with friends, shoot some pool, play darts or table tennis? How about watching your favorite shows and movies on the 120″ projector screen with a Yamaha surround sound system? How about a place to bring your laptop and connect free to the Internet? At the Firehouse, you can! Other attractions at the Firehouse include Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Xbox, and PS2, Foosball, basketball court, and even air hockey – all free! Don’t miss the movie nights, monthly tournaments and events at the Firehouse.
Equipment and Facilities
The Firehouse is equipped to provide a quality recreation center to active personnel and their guests on JB MDL. The Firehouse consists of a gaming room, theater, basketball court, outdoor patio, laptops, board games, pool tables, table tennis, air hockey, table shuffleboard, dartboards, and foosball.
In the bay area, there are lounge chairs and an entertainment system to allow the guests to enjoy a 60” T.V. to watch sports games, movies, listen to music as they enjoy the above activities.
Free WiFi is available as well as laptops available for guests to sign out. Guests may also bring their own laptops.
There is direct access to a Subway Restaurant which The Firehouse also shares the building with. Food and drinks are permissible within The Firehouse.
The Music Room features sound proofing panels as to not disturb the rest of the facility. We have a 6-piece Ludwig Drum Set, Yamaha Keyboard, two Yamaha 6-string acoustic guitars, and two Fender electric guitars with accompanying Squire Practice amplifiers.
Guitar tuners and instructional beginners guide DVDs are available upon request.
The basketball court is located in the rear of the firehouse. We have basketballs available to sign out inside The Firehouse for guests to use.
The Gaming Room consists of five 42” LCD monitors and comfortable seating. The following gaming consoles available for your convenience:

All consoles have a large number of games and accessories available with the ability for online gaming.
The Theater Room is available to watch over 200 DVD/Blu-ray movies or even to watch cable TV. The room consists of a 120” projector screen and theater style seating. The theater also has a high-quality Yamaha sound system and theater style seating.
Firehouse Movie Night is the second Friday of every month beginning at 8pm. Open to all E-1 thru E-4 to enjoy a free movie with free popcorn and beverages. Due to the seating, maximum participation is 21. If there is a high demand, there will be 2 showings. Movie suggestions can be made by calling 609.754.2233 or visiting the Firehouse during the normal operating hours.
Hungry? Subway is right here in the Firehouse so you don’t have to travel far or spend a fortune to get a good meal. Subway is open 24 hours, 7 days a week with something for everyone, all fresh and made to order!
Events at the Firehouse
mobile Escape Rooms
Friday, December 13, 11am to 5pm at FSS Firehouse Recreation Center, Bldg. 2502 East Arnold Ave., JB MDL McGuire.
Free for all DoD ID holders. Register December 1 thru December 12.
Three escape rooms: Wizard Academy, Exit Protocol, and Houdini's Escape. Each room runs 30 minutes each. Maximum amount per group is 6 people. Space is limited, registration is required in advance.
Food is available for purchase from Subway.
8-BALL POOL TOURNAMENT
Saturday January 18, sign-in 4:30pm; tourney begins at 5pm at the Firehouse Rec Center, Bldg. 2502 JB MDL McGuire. Tournament hosted using rules and regulations from the official BCA 8 Ball rule book. A copy of BCA/house rules will be available at the Firehouse upon request. Pizza and soft beverages provided. All necessary billiards equipment available if needed, however players are welcome to use their own personal cue/accessories. Format is round robin style with winners of each group advancing to a single elimination playoff (format is subject to change based upon participation). Tournament participation focuses on E1-E4, but other military and DoD civilians are eligible to enter if space becomes available.
REGISTRATION: Registration is highly encouraged. E-1 to E-4 will have priority registration beginning January 1st. Those interested in participating outside E-1 to E-4 range may sign up during the week leading up to the tournament (beginning January 12), if space is available.
