Offering a complete pottery studio and paint-your-own ceramics and mosaic studio! Our staff is experienced, qualified, and always on hand to help in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Pottery Studio

Offering classes covering hand building and wheel throwing techniques. Glazes and firing provided. Adult pottery classes are 6 weeks long and held on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:30pm. Open to beginners and intermediate. Pre-registration required.

Kids pottery classes for ages 6 thru 12 are four weeks long and held on Saturday mornings from 10:30am to 12:00pm. Special classes can be arranged for Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Paint Your Own Ceramics and Mosaic Studio

Our studio offers a large selection of ceramic bisque items to choose from to decorate with glaze. All pieces are food and dishwasher safe when finished. Mosaics offer a great way to express yourself with colorful glass. We supply all the shapes, tiles, glue and grout to complete your project. Group functions and parties can be arranged to paint ceramics or do mosaics.

Learn a variety of artistic skills & techniques through our multi-crafts classes and workshops. Our highly qualified instructors offer courses to both children and adults in a fun, friendly and encouraging environment. Many materials are available to provide students the finest learning experience possible.

Studio Use

Enjoy open studio time and use of equipment for a nominal fee during our regular business hours. Accu-Cut, Sewing, Drawing/Painting, and Create a Critter are offered.

Class Registration Information

Advanced registration is required for all classes via phone or in person. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are informed of supply needs at the time of registration or during the first class meeting. Classes are open to all DoD ID holders and their accompanied guests. Classes fill quickly, register early, call 609.562.5691.

Class Cancelation/Refund Information

Class fees are refunded in the event of a class cancellation due to lack of enrollment or other reasons. Students may cancel a class reservation in person or by phone. Participants have 30 days to obtain refunds after notification of a cancellation, with a receipt. Arts & Crafts will honor previous payment for a rescheduled or future classes held in lieu of a refund.

Have your child’s next birthday party at 87FSS’s Peter L. Hunt Arts & Crafts Center. Enjoy two hours of party room use and one enjoyable craft project, including all materials! Make reservations via phone, however, for the best service we recommend booking a party in person. Stop in today to see our great selection of craft projects for your party!

Great selection of ceramic items for children to paint! Prices & firing fees vary per ceramic piece. (Item cost + half = total cost.)

Stuff your very own soft & cuddly friend! A fantastic party project for young party-goers. Choose from a wide selection of stuffed animals. Critters are $12.50 per child (Includes – animal, stuffing, critter t-shirt & staff instruction).

Coffee & Canvas

Welcome in the weekend by painting with us! Each session we will guide you on a painting adventure! No skills required. Just a cup of coffee, tea or your favorite morning beverage. You will leave each session with a painting done, from start to finish by you! This is a fun class and a great way to squeeze in some creativity.

Cost: $15 each class. Discounts available for multiple classes. Materials Provided.

Fridays, September 13, 27 & October 11, 25 from 10:30am-12:30pm.

Drawing Basics (Ages 10 & up)

We will teach you the basics of drawing. We will cover, proportions, sizing and introduce some size-sight methods. We will also look at using simple shapes to building complex forms. You will leave with several exercise projects so we can develop hand-eye coordination.

Open to ages 10 & up.

Saturdays, September 7-21 (3 weeks) from 1:00pm-2:30pm.

Cost: $30.

Lunch Break Art Journaling

Bring your lunch and create with us! Each class we will design and create a new spread in your journal. A great way to refocus and allow for some self-care!

No need to register, just come on in!

Cost: $25 for first class; $8 per class for future classes. Materials Provided.

Tuesdays 11:00am-12:00pm & Fridays 12:00pm-1:00pm; Session 1: Sept 6, 10, 20, 24; Session 2: Oct 4, 8, 18, 22. 

Little Picassos (Ages 3-5)

You heard that right; bring your little one to explore creativity and have a little fun! We do something new at every class while fostering creative exploration with a variety of materials. Registration required; payment due at registration. 

Open to ages 3-5, first and third Fridays, September 6, 20; October 4 & 18 from 10:15am-11:00am.

Cost: $5 per class and materials provided. 

Little Painter
after the master's Series: Acrylic Painting Class

We will explore the basics of acrylic painting after a masterpiece in art history. This class is for beginners and first-time painters, but all levels are welcome! Registration required; payment due at registration.

Thursdays, September 5 - October 10 (6 weeks) from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

Cost: $75 plus materials. Materials list will be provided at registration.

Painting Class
Color Pencil Painting
Color Pencil Basics (Ages 13 & up)

We will learn the basics of color pencil painting! We will discuss color mixing, theory, application, methods, and various media and mediums. We will also look at other artists’ works such as Ester Roi, who use color pencil and other wax based mediums.

Registration required. Open to ages 13 & up.

Wednesdays, September 4-October 9 (6 weeks) from 6:00pm-7:30pm.

 Cost: $60. Materials list available at the FSS Arts and Crafts Center.

Kids Textile and Fiber Arts Class (Ages 6 & Up)

Explore the wonderful world of fiber arts. We will create weavings and macramé; and explore different types of textiles and yarn. Pre-registration required, payment due at registration. Materials provided.

Home School Art Classes

Beginner Photography (Ages 18 & Up)

This 4-week course will cover everything you need to know to turn your average looking snapshots into photos you can be proud of. We will demystify aperture, shutter speed, ISO and composition to give you the creative freedom you’ve been looking for. This course is designed for beginner to intermediate photographers.

Cost $60 per student.

Time: 5:30pm-7:30pm

Dates: Thursdays, August 7 - August 28 (4 weeks) 

Adult Beginner Sewing

Learn all about the sewing machine and all supplies/tools used. This class gives you a great beginner foundation, designed to cover all the sewing basics. You will easily gain more confidence, speed and skills. Students may bring their sewing machine but it’s not required. Please stop by 87FSS Arts & Crafts Center for a materials list.

Cost: $45 plus material

Time: 6pm - 8:30pm

Art for Tots (Ages 2 - 5)

During this class enjoy exploring art with your child. You and your child will create a fun cute craft to take home and display in your home. Parents are required to stay and assist their child in making their craft.

Adult Paint Night (ages 16 & up)

Come and enjoy a night of painting this beautiful spring! We will guide you through a beautiful adventure of floral painting, from color, to brush, to canvas on a large 16” x 20" canvas. Bring a coffee and unwind with us. Materials provided.

Watercolor Painting

Framing Qualification Class

Get qualified to use this great facility and equipment! You will complete one piece as you learn to operate the equipment. You are required to bring something in to frame such as an 8x10 photo or certificate. All materials are available at the frame shop which will be purchased at the end of class.

Cost: $25 plus materials.

Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Kids Pottery Class
(Ages 6-12)

Classes cover hand-building; pinching, coiling, slab building among other hand building techniques. Students will be shown basic techniques that will lead to their own creative solutions. Clay glazes and firings are provided.

Registration required; payment due at registration.

Open to ages 6-12.

Cost: $40 for Session 1, $30 for Session 2.

Session 1: Saturdays, September 7-28 (4 weeks) 10:30am-12:00pm.

Session 2: Saturdays, October 5-26 (3 weeks; Closed October 12) from 10:30am-12:00pm.

Students will gain more confidence by the end of the session and will be excited to use their sewing skills to create their own projects! If you want to see just how easy and fun sewing is, then take this kids class! Please stop by Arts & Crafts Center for a materials list.

Kids Painting Class (Ages 6 & up)

During this 3 week course students will explore use of various art media which includes: pastels, watercolor, acrylic and more. Pre-registration is required.

Home Sweet Home Art

Join us to create beautiful string art of your home state on wood! You will receive step by step design instruction while enjoying a sweet treat. You will leave with a cool nail & string art creation.

The class will focus on beginning wheel throwing techniques, basic hand-building skills such as pinching, coiling and slab construction. Glazes and firing are provided. Open to beginners through intermediate.

Wednesdays, September 4 - October 9 (6 weeks) from 6:00pm - 8:30pm.

Cost: $75 plus $15 for first purchase of 25lb clay.

Beginner Crochet 101 

Learn the basics of crochet! We will start with a simple project to teach you the basics of crochet. We strongly encourage crochet enthusiasts to join us from any level, to learn the beautiful craft of crochet and meet new people!

Cost: $45 per session. Materials list provided at time of registration.

Session 1: Tuesdays, September 3-24 (4 weeks), 1:00pm – 2:30pm / Register by September 3.

Session 2: Tuesdays, October 1-22 (4 weeks), 1:00pm – 2:30pm / Register by September 26. 

Homeschool Art Classes
Home School Art Program (Ages 6 & Up)

Check out our updated art program! Your homeschooler will explore a variety of art mediums to include; pottery, painting, paper crafts and more. Our new class for teens will go further in depth in fine art and pottery to develop skills or build new skills. Materials provided. 

Registration required; payment due on registration.

Session 1 is for ages 6-11: Thursdays, September 5-September 26 (4 weeks) from 2:00pm-3:30pm. Cost $50.

Session 2 is for ages 12 & up: Thursdays, October 3-November 7 (7 weeks; 3 weeks in Ceramics, 4 weeks in Drawing) from 2:30pm-4:00pm. Cost $75. Register by September 26.
