Special, Morale & Welfare (SM&W) Funds

Special, Morale and Welfare (SM&W) Funds are NAF expenditures considered necessary to contribute to the overall morale and welfare of the military community, in accordance with DAFMAN 34-201.
SM&W funds are for official functions only.  Funds can be used for the following functions:
Change of Command, Competitive Base Wide Award Ceremonies, Retirements, Commanders’ Calls, and Memorial Observances.  SM&W Funds cannot be used for unit parties, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, gifts, or coins.

Functions are approved for light refreshments to include punch, cake, and fruit/veggie trays.  Not approved for meals such as Pizza, Wings, Sandwiches, etc. 

All Requests are required to be sent 14 working days prior to the event.
All requests for reimbursement are required to be turned in within 3 business days of the event, and all receipts must be included to show the amount paid.
